![]() Neighborhood Activities in Redwood HeightsRHIA Parent - Baby Group by Stacy Jorgensen (RHIA Board Member)
Redwood Heights Softball by Erik Jorgensen (RHIA Board Member) Redwood Heights Improvement Association holds an annual Laurel/Redwood Heights Community BBQ every year around September. It's a great opportunity to enjoy some great food, meet neighbors, and there is always plenty of friendly kid's games. The community BBQ is held at the wonderful Avenue Terrace Park (on corner of Bennett Place and Jordan). It's an event not to be missed. Many parents can be found at the park on a daily basis with their children, and makes a real asset to the community. Home Alert Program-Anyone interested in forming a home alert program in the area please contact Erik Jorgensen at 336-3399. Also if you are a block captain please contact Erik, so he can make you part of a greater Redwood Heights Home Alert Network. Community problems can be addressed at the RHIA meetings. Block Parties-It is not unusual for certain streets to block car traffic for a few fun filled hours as whole streets gear up for an annual block party. It is a great way to meet all your neighbors, especially if you street is thinking of or has created its own home alert program. Some streets also have an annual block garage sale, which includes small parties after a day of selling.
JOIN THE FRIENDS OF REDWOOD HEIGHTS! Home and Garden Tour This Home and Garden Tour is sponsored by the Redwood Heights Improvement Association, as a fundraiser for the Redwood Heights Improvement Association. Our organization makes contributions of money or services to Redwood Heights Elementary School, is active in addressing landscape and maintenance issues with the City of Oakland and CalTrans, and also acts as a link between Redwood Heights and local government. We sponsor community events like our annual meeting, Earth Day activities, picnics and the Home and Garden Tour. The tour consists of a day visiting 8-10 homes where owners have taken the time to create unique gardening landscapes for all to enjoy. We also get to visit some of the architecturally distinct homes in the area. It is really a fun day. If there are any activities that have not been listed here at this time, please note this activity list will be upgraded on a quarterly basis. Let me know if there is an event that you feel should be included in this list.
